Learning Objectives 2013

Global Objectives

This programme aims to build confidence in students by giving them the ability to understand and use a second language in real-life situations. The classes are completely in English, with a native and qualified teacher who also has experience working with children.

These classes are focused especially on activities that children enjoy, with lots of opportunities to move, act, sing and use technology.

Linguistic Objectives

For each grade at Upuerê, there is a corresponding syllabus which maps out the communicative aims, language functions, grammar, lexis and phonology which should be expected by the end of each level.

Below you will find the Communicative objectives. Full copies of the curriculum can be found in the Co-ordination Office.

You may be interested to know that these levels correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). This is the European standard for grading an individual's language proficiency. More information on these levels can be found at Council of Europe's webpage.
